About the role's

The Feathers Hotel is looking for motivated and personable wait staff and bartenders to join our hospitality team. We’re after people who enjoy working with others, provide attentive service and help create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests.

Key responsibilities

- Providing attentive table service and looking after guests

- Recommending food and beverages and upselling where appropriate

- Preparing and serving drinks, including cocktails, wine and beer

- Maintaining bar cleanliness, presentation and stock levels

- Assisting with bar setup, restocking and closing duties

- Processing orders and payments accurately

- Working efficiently with the team during busy service periods

About you

- Previous hospitality experience

- Current RSA certification

- Positive food and beverage knowledge

- Strong customer service and communication skills

- Professional presentation and attention to detail

- Reliable, team-oriented and available for evening and weekend shifts

- Preferably have a TAB certificate

You’ll lead the kitchen in delivering exceptional dining experiences for weddings, corporate events, galas, and private celebrations—ensuring every plate tells a story and every service runs seamlessly. Your leadership will inspire the team, your innovation will delight our clients, and your attention to detail will make each event unforgettable.

What You'll Do

- Design and execute bespoke menus for functions, events, and large-scale catering, balancing creativity with client preferences.





- Lead and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, skill development, and pride in craftsmanship.

- Manage kitchen operations for events, including prep schedules, plating logistics, and service coordination.

- Oversee food quality, presentation, and consistency, ensuring every dish meets our high standards.

- Collaborate closely with the events team to align menus with themes, budgets, and timelines.

- Maintain compliance with food safety regulations and manage inventory efficiently.

- Innovate seasonal offerings and signature dishes that set our functions apart.

What You'll Bring

- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef, with a strong background in functions, banquets, or large-scale catering.

- Expertise in menu planning for diverse events, from formal plated dinners to casual buffets.

- Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to thrive under pressure during high-volume service.

- Strong leadership and communication skills, with a knack for motivating teams.

- A creative flair for presentation and flavour combinations that impress guests.

- Knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen management best practices.
