About the role

TFG Group is looking for a reliable and motivated Trades Assistant to join our busy Smithfield workshop. You'll work alongside experienced tradespeople, supporting the fabrication of stainless-steel pipework, tube and tanks for projects across the data centre, wastewater, and food and beverage sectors.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

- Assisting tradespeople with general fabrication and workshop tasks

- Using hand and power tools for grinding, drilling, cleaning welds and material preparation

- Handling materials and assisting with deliveries and collections

- Keeping the workshop, tools and equipment clean, safe and organised

- Supporting the team with general labouring and site work when required





This is a hands-on role offering plenty of variety and the opportunity to build your skills while working on quality fabrication projects.

About you

We're looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking and willing to get stuck in.

Ideally, you'll have:

- Previous experience in a workshop, trades, labouring or manufacturing setting

- Confidence using basic hand and power tools

- The ability to follow instructions and work well within a team

- A strong focus on safety and quality workmanship

- A current driver's licence (Class C) is essential

- A current high risk forklift licence is highly advantageous
