About ADENCO
ADENCO is a Perth-based contractor delivering civil, SMP, electrical and water management projects across Western Australia, from Pilbara mine sites to metro operations. Our values of Integrity, Respect, Positivity and Excellence shape how we work with our clients, our partners and each other.
About the role
We're looking for a Project Manager who enjoys getting projects ready to start: safely, on time and on budget. Working mainly from our Perth office and reporting to the Project Delivery Manager, you'll take awarded projects from our Pre-Contracts team, set up the plans, budgets, programme, approvals, procurement and mobilisation, and hand a fully prepared project to the site team.
Between start-ups, you'll float across our portfolio, covering and supporting our Project Managers during leave, busy periods and project transitions.
What you'll do
- Take handover of awarded projects and review the contract for obligations, KPIs, hold points and client pre-start deliverables
- Develop the Project Execution Plan and project plans (HSE, Quality, Environmental, Traffic Management, Site Establishment) and get them approved before site start
- Build the baseline programme with Planning, and set up cost codes, budgets and forecasting with our Commercial and Finance teams
- Coordinate early procurement of long-lead materials, plant, equipment and subcontract packages
- Plan mobilisation and site establishment: people, plant, permits, approvals, access and laydown
- Lead internal and client kick-off meetings, then hand over a complete project pack to the delivery team
- Cover Project Managers across live projects and support them with reporting, forecasting, progress claims and variations
- Help improve how we set up projects through templates and lessons learnt
What you'll bring
- A background with a civil, SMP, construction or mining contractor (essential)
- 5+ years in construction or mining, including at least 2 years as a Project Manager
- Proven experience setting up and mobilising projects: execution plans, budgets, programmes and approvals
- A trade or tertiary qualification in Construction/Project Management, Engineering or a related field
- Strong working knowledge of construction commercials and contracts, including budgets, forecasting, claims and variations
- Experience leading project teams, with a strong commitment to safety
- A C Class manual driver's licence, and the ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol test
Highly regarded:
- Mine site water infrastructure or resources project experience
- CPPM or equivalent project management certification
- Microsoft Project, Primavera P6 and Candy (RIB CCS)
- Current Senior First Aid, fire training and Section 44 training
What's in it for you
- A Perth office-based role with no FIFO roster
- The chance to set projects up properly, rather than inheriting someone else's set-up
- Variety across civil, SMP and water infrastructure projects
- Direct exposure to our project leadership team and a real say in how we deliver
- A supportive, values-driven team with a solid pipeline of work across WA
