Experienced Aluminium Fabricator

About the role

Are you an experienced aluminium fabricator with a passion for building boats, trailers and canopies? Join our small yet dynamic team where we work on exciting projects in the custom plate boat industry, including custom boat builds, alterations/modifications to existing boats, repairs, custom build boat trailers and aluminium canopies.

Key Responsibilities

- Fabricate, assemble and weld custom aluminium boats, trailers, canopies and associated components.

- Interpret engineering drawings, fabrication plans, measurements and customer specifications.

- Measure, mark, cut, bend, shape and prepare aluminium materials for fabrication.

- Perform high-quality MIG and TIG welding of aluminium components, ensuring strong, accurate and clean welds.

- Manufacture custom aluminium boat hulls, decks, consoles, storage compartments and accessories.

- Fabricate custom aluminium trailers, including frames, supports, brackets and structural components.

- Design and manufacture custom aluminium canopies, toolboxes, storage systems and vehicle accessories.

- Fit and install hinges, locks, latches, seals, brackets and other hardware.

- Operate fabrication equipment, including welders, grinders, saws, drills, presses and other workshop machinery.

- Ensure fabricated components are accurately aligned, assembled and finished to a professional standard.

- Conduct quality inspections throughout the fabrication process to ensure products meet specifications and workmanship standards.





- Identify and rectify fabrication defects, welding imperfections and dimensional inaccuracies.

- Assist with custom modifications, repairs and alterations to existing aluminium products.

- Maintain workshop equipment, tools and machinery in safe working condition.

- Follow workplace health and safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE and protected welding practices.

- Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment.

- Work independently and collaboratively to complete fabrication projects within allocated timeframes.

- Undertake other fabrication and workshop duties as reasonably required.

Must Haves

- Construction Induction Card

- Aluminium welding experience

Desirables

- Australian Drivers Licence

- Boat Building experience

- Trailer building experience

- Repairs and maintenance on existing aluminium structures
