We’re looking for an Electrical Estimator to join our team in Mackay, offering a outstanding opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, working closely with customers and being involved from the early stages of a project through to tender submission.
You’ll play an important role in developing accurate budgets and tenders across a diverse range of mining projects.
The role will see you working across everything from large-scale capital projects and equipment replacements through to budget estimates, while collaborating with customers, engineering and project teams.
What you'll be doing:
- Preparing accurate budgets, estimates, quotations and tender submissions.
- Working directly with customers to understand project requirements, scope and expectations.
- Supporting pre-engineering activities and project reviews.
- Managing multiple tenders across different areas of the Mining business.
- Reviewing project requirements to ensure estimates align with relevant standards, contracts, legislation and budget expectations.
- Working closely with internal teams to develop competitive and achievable solutions.
- Building and maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Contributing to improved tender outcomes, win rates and business growth.
About you:
We’re looking for someone who is proactive, commercially minded and technically capable, with a genuine interest in developing their career within Ampcontrol.
You will ideally have:
- An electrical trade background or engineering qualification.
- Hands-on experience with HV/LV electrical systems, plant or equipment.
- Experience or exposure to electrical mining equipment.
- Experience preparing electrical estimates, budgets or tenders.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A customer-focused approach and ability to build positive relationships.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
