About Greenhills

Greenhills is a not-for-profit group accommodation facility, located just 10 minutes from the Molonglo Valley area. We support school and community groups by providing accommodation, catering and activities in a beautiful bush setting.

We're looking for reliable, enthusiastic and hands-on people to join our team as Hosts / All-Rounders, helping us provide a welcoming and enjoyable experience for the groups who visit Greenhills.

Positions will commence in January 2027, with some training shifts potentially available before the end of 2026.

A varied role where you can get involved in everything

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, working with people and getting stuck into different tasks. From welcoming groups and helping meal services run smoothly to preparing accommodation and assisting with activities, you'll play an important part in the day-to-day running of Greenhills.

No two days are necessarily the same, and we're looking for people who are happy to pitch in wherever they're needed.

Hours and flexibility

Flexibility is essential, as our staffing needs vary depending on group bookings. We're happy to discuss working arrangements with the right applicants, although availability will need to fit with the needs of the centre.

- Shifts are generally a minimum of three hours.
- Shifts may fall anywhere between 6 am and 9 pm, any day of the week.
- Our most common regular shifts are 6:30 am – 10:30 am and 4:30 pm – 9:30 pm.
- Good weekday availability is a bonus.
- Applicable penalty rates are paid for eligible shifts.

What we're looking for

The successful applicant will have:

- A positive, hands-on attitude and a willingness to pitch in wherever needed.
- Good attention to detail and pride in their work.




- A demonstrated track record of reliability and trustworthiness.
- An ACT Working with Vulnerable People registration, or a willingness to obtain one.
- A current driver's licence and reliable transport, as public transport is not available to the site.

Experience in hospitality, housekeeping, catering or customer service would be helpful, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are just as important.

What you'll be doing

This is a genuine all-rounder role, with duties that may include:

- Hosting groups: Helping guests feel welcome and ensuring meal services in the Dining Room run smoothly.
- Housekeeping: Preparing accommodation for arrivals, making beds and helping move furniture as needed.
- Group activities: Assisting with our activity programs.
- Cleaning and grounds: Helping with cleaning, gardening and general site upkeep.
- Guest departures: Checking rooms for damage, resetting accommodation and completing post-departure tasks.
- Kitchen support: Assisting our cooking team with kitchen hand duties.
- Other tasks: Pitching in wherever needed to help keep Greenhills running smoothly.

Pay starts at $20–$35 per hour, depending on age and experience, plus applicable penalty rates, allowances and superannuation, in accordance with the applicable Hospitality Industry Award.

Start date: January 2027, with potential training shifts available in late 2026. The start date is negotiable.
