Grain Kitchen is looking for an experienced and motivated Night Production Supervisor to lead our busy night production team.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring our nightly production runs efficiently, safely and to a consistently high standard. You will lead a team producing high volumes of sandwiches, wraps, salads, breakfast products and other fresh grab-and-go items.

We are looking for someone who doesn't just manage the shift — we want someone who can motivate a team, identify improvements and continuously look for better ways of working.

The Role

As Night Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

- Leading and supervising the night production team
- Organising staff, sections and daily production requirements
- Ensuring all orders are completed accurately and on time
- Monitoring productivity and ensuring production targets are achieved
- Motivating the team and maintaining a positive, productive working setting
- Training, coaching and developing team members
- Managing staff performance and addressing issues as they arise
- Identifying bottlenecks and opportunities to improve production efficiency
- Reviewing production processes and suggesting improvements
- Monitoring waste, portion control and product consistency
- Ensuring recipes, specifications and presentation standards are followed
- Ensuring food safety, HACCP and workplace procedures are followed at all times
- Completing required production and food safety documentation
- Communicating production issues, staffing concerns and opportunities to management
- Working closely with the Executive Chef and management team
- Participating in weekly sales and production meetings
- Reviewing upcoming sales volumes and ensuring the night team is prepared for production requirements




- Assisting with labour planning and ensuring staffing levels are appropriate for production volumes

- Has previous supervisory or leadership experience in food production, catering, manufacturing or a high-volume commercial kitchen
- Is confident managing and motivating a team

- Is comfortable reviewing numbers and production performance
- Has a continuous improvement mindset and actively looks for ways to make the operation better
- Can identify problems and take ownership of finding solutions
- Has strong communication skills
- Can hold team members accountable while maintaining a positive workplace culture
- Has excellent attention to detail
- Understands food safety, hygiene and HACCP requirements
- Is reliable, calm under pressure and willing to be hands-on when required

Grain Kitchen is a HACCP-certified food production kitchen producing fresh food for cafés, catering, wholesale customers and retail locations across Sydney.

We operate in a high-volume production environment, and our focus is on quality, consistency, efficiency and continuous improvement.

As we continue to grow, this role will be an important part of developing our night production team and improving the way we operate.

Hours

This is primarily a night production role, approximately 2:00pm–10:00pm.
