We're looking for a hands-on Production Shift Supervisor to join our Pakenham manufacturing site. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being out on the production floor, supporting operators, solving problems in real time and helping production run safely and efficiently.

Working alongside the Production Shift Manager, you'll be the go-to person on the afternoon shift, ensuring day-to-day operations stay on track while coaching employees and maintaining high manufacturing standards.

The hours for our day shift are 3:00pm to 11:06pm, Monday to Friday.

The Role
As the Production Shift Supervisor on the afternoon shift, you'll spend the majority of your time on the factory floor, providing hands-on leadership, supporting your production team and ensuring operations run safely and efficiently. You'll play a key role in coordinating production priorities, managing operational challenges and driving performance across multiple manufacturing areas.

- Supervising and coordinating daily production activities across multiple manufacturing areas, ensuring production targets, safety and quality standards are achieved.
- Providing hands-on supervision, coaching and support to operators while promoting accountability, teamwork and a positive workplace culture.
- Proactively identifying and resolving operational issues, making timely decisions and escalating concerns to minimise downtime and production disruptions.




- Ensuring compliance with food safety, HACCP, CCP/QCP, GMP and workplace safety requirements, including timely escalation of non-conformances.
- Supporting food safety, quality and GMP standards across the production area.
- Coaching employees on standard operating procedures and protected work practices.
- Working alongside Maintenance to coordinate preventative and reactive maintenance activities.
- Identifying opportunities to reduce waste and improve production efficiency.
- Assisting with training, onboarding and developing team capability.
- Supporting the Production Shift Manager with daily operational activities and people matters.

The Person
You'll be someone who enjoys being on the floor rather than behind a desk. You're approachable, practical and thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where no two days are the same. You'll also bring:

- Experience in a Production Supervisor, Leading Hand or similar role within FMCG or food manufacturing.
- A strong understanding of manufacturing operations, food safety and quality systems.
- Experience with ERP systems, MUV management, Microsoft Excel, and general technology/computer systems.
- Experience working in shift-based manufacturing environments.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to identify root causes, implement practical improvements and take ownership of outcomes.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles.




- Confidence coaching and supporting production employees.
- Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage labour resources, competing production priorities and unexpected operational challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear direction, build trust, manage difficult conversations and collaborate across departments..
- A genuine commitment to workplace safety and creating a positive team culture.
