About Us
At Impact Supports Hub, we believe disability support should be about more than simply providing care. It's about creating opportunities, building meaningful connections, promoting independence and empowering people to live life on their own terms.
We are a growing, person-centred disability support organisation providing individualised support to people with diverse needs, abilities and goals across the Illawarra and Shoalhaven regions.
Our approach is grounded in dignity, respect, choice and inclusion. We value creativity, collaboration and genuine relationships, and we are passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of the people we support.
About the Role
We are seeking enthusiastic, compassionate and reliable Casual Disability Support Workers to join our growing team.
This is an opportunity for individuals who genuinely enjoy supporting others, are willing to think outside the box and understand that great support looks different for every person.
Our participants have a diverse range of support needs, including autism, intellectual disability, psychosocial disability and complex support requirements.
Depending on your skills, experience and interests, your role may involve:
- Supporting participants with everyday living activities and developing independent living skills.
- Assisting with personal care, meal preparation, household routines and medication support where appropriately trained and authorised.
- Supporting community access, social participation, recreational activities and meaningful experiences.
- Providing support within Supported Independent Living (SIL) environments.
- Implementing individualised support plans, positive behaviour support strategies and proactive approaches to emotional regulation.
- Encouraging choice, self-determination and the development of confidence and independence.
- Building positive, professional relationships with participants, families and other members of their support network.
- Maintaining accurate shift notes, incident documentation and professional communication.
- Supporting participants to achieve their individual NDIS goals.
No two days are the same! One shift might involve developing daily living skills, while another could include fishing, exploring the community, attending appointments or supporting someone to work towards a personal goal.
About You
We are looking for people who bring the right attitude,
strong values and a genuine commitment to making a difference.
Our ideal team members are:
- Compassionate, patient, respectful and non-judgemental.
- Reliable, punctual and committed to providing consistent, high-quality support.
- Confident working independently while contributing positively to a team.
- Flexible, adaptable and comfortable supporting people with diverse and sometimes complex needs.
- Strong communicators who understand the importance of qualified boundaries and confidentiality.
- Proactive problem-solvers who can take initiative while respecting participant choice and autonomy.
- Willing to learn, receive feedback and continue developing their professional skills.
- Passionate about supporting people to build independence, meaningful relationships and community connections.
We particularly welcome applicants who have interests, hobbies or skills they would enjoy sharing with participants, whether that's fishing, sports, gaming, cooking, arts, outdoor adventures or something completely different.
Essential Requirements
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain one prior to commencing.
- Current Working With Children Check where required for the role.
- Current driver's licence and access to a reliable, registered and insured vehicle.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain before commencing relevant duties.
- Ability to complete the NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation.
- Availability to work flexible shifts, which may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and overnight support.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability), Community Services or a related qualification.
- Previous experience supporting people with disability.
- Experience working with autism, intellectual disability, complex behaviours or psychosocial disability.
- Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS),
trauma-informed practice and person-centred approaches.
- Experience in Supported Independent Living (SIL) or community participation services.
- Additional training in medication assistance, manual handling, communication support or behaviour support.
Don't meet every desirable criterion? We still encourage you to apply. We recognise that valuable skills and experience come from a variety of backgrounds, and we value people who demonstrate the right attitude and willingness to learn.
What We Offer
