Are you an enthusiastic and motivated Commis Chef looking to develop your skills in a dynamic, quality-driven kitchen?

Fook Shing is a contemporary Southeast Asian restaurant and bar in the heart of Kyneton, bringing bold flavours, vibrant dishes and warm hospitality together in a unique regional setting.

We’re looking for a passionate Commis Chef to join our kitchen team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who loves food, takes pride in their work and wants to build their experience alongside an experienced kitchen team led by Chef Dan.

About the role

Working as part of our kitchen brigade, you will help deliver consistently high-quality dishes across our menu while maintaining excellent food safety, cleanliness and kitchen standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Preparing and cooking dishes to our established recipes and standards.
- Assisting with mise en place, food preparation and service.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and hygienic workstation.
- Supporting the team during busy lunch and dinner services.
- Following food safety procedures and minimising food waste.
- Contributing ideas and showing a willingness to learn and improve.

About you

We’re looking for someone who:

- Has a genuine passion for food and cooking.




- Has some commercial kitchen experience or is a recent cookery graduate.
- Is keen to learn recent techniques, flavours and cuisines.
- Works well under pressure and enjoys being part of a team.
- Takes direction positively and demonstrates initiative.
- Is reliable, organised and takes pride in their work.
- Is available to work a combination of lunch, evening and weekend shifts.

Experience with Southeast Asian cuisine would be an advantage, but enthusiasm, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn are just as important.

Employment: Full-time

Location: Fook Shing, Piper Street, Kyneton, Victoria.

Salary: AUD 75,000.00- 83,000.00 plus superannuation
