gather by Cater Care is seeking a hands-on, customer-focused Assistant Catering Manager to join our team at the prestigious Trinity College, part of the University of Melbourne community.

Working alongside the Catering Manager, you’ll help oversee boarding catering, college functions and café services, lead and develop a large team, and build strong client relationships. You’ll play a key role in delivering seamless service and exceptional dining experiences across this diverse operation.

Please note, this position is scheduled to commence in January 2027.

Your Key Responsibilities

Lead, coach and motivate a large team to deliver consistently exceptional service
Set high standards for customer experience, presentation and professionalism
Build trusted relationships with clients and engage positively with the college community
Support smooth daily operations, managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and elevate the overall dining experience
Maintain food safety, compliance and operational standards while confidently managing administrative systems

Skills and Experiences:
Your Skills and Expertise

Experience in a premium hotel,



high-end catering venue or quality hospitality operation
A solid customer-first mindset and a genuine passion for service excellence
Proven team leadership skills and the ability to lead by example
Exceptional communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
Strong organisation, problem-solving abilities and computer literacy
Current RSA and Food Safety Supervisor certifications, plus the ability to obtain a National Police Check and Working With Children Check
