ABOUT US

Established in 2016, Dish & Spoon is a busy, family owned café and restaurant in Camberwell, known for specialty coffee, seasonal food and genuine hospitality.

With approximately 120 seats across multiple indoor and outdoor dining areas, we operate 7 days a week, delivering high volume breakfast, brunch and lunch services alongside occasional private functions.

We are looking for experienced, energetic and reliable wait staff to join our front of house team and help deliver the high standards of service we have built our reputation on.

THE ROLE

This is a hands on front of house position in a fast paced, high volume hospitality environment.

You will be responsible for providing friendly, attentive and efficient service while ensuring guests enjoy a consistently positive dining experience.

We are looking for individuals who can confidently manage their own section, work efficiently under pressure and contribute positively to a busy and supportive team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

CUSTOMER SERVICE AND HOSPITALITY

Welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner.

Provide attentive, efficient and genuine customer service.

Confidently take food and beverage orders with accuracy.

Maintain strong knowledge of our menu, including ingredients, dietary requirements and allergens.

Handle customer enquiries and requests professionally.

Ensure guests receive a consistently high standard of service throughout their visit.

SERVICE AND TEAMWORK

Confidently manage a section during busy breakfast, brunch and lunch services.

Deliver food and beverages accurately and efficiently.

Clear, reset and prepare tables promptly to maintain smooth service and table turnover.





Communicate effectively with kitchen, coffee, bar and floor teams.

Support fellow team members and assist in other sections when required.

Remain calm, organised and productive during demanding services.

VENUE OPERATIONS

Assist with daily opening and closing procedures.

Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and organisation throughout the venue.

Ensure tables, service stations and dining areas are clean, stocked and ready for service.

Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures.

Operate the POS system accurately and process customer payments.

Complete assigned duties efficiently and take initiative during quieter periods.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for hospitality professionals who enjoy working in a busy workplace and take genuine pride in delivering excellent customer service.

You will bring previous experience working in a busy café or restaurant.

The confidence to manage your own section independently.

Strong communication and customer service skills.

The ability to multitask and remain organised under pressure.

A friendly, positive and professional attitude.

A strong work ethic with excellent attention to detail.

The ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.

A willingness to take initiative and support your colleagues.

Reliability, punctuality and a professional presentation.

Availability to work weekends,



including Saturday and Sunday services, as rostered.

A current RSA certificate or willingness to obtain one.

Pay: $26.44 – $47.95 per hour
