Tiger Burger is seeking an enthusiastic and hardworking
Kitchen Hand, Cook, All Rounder
to join our team at our West End QLD location. This is a
part-time position
offering flexibility whilst contributing to our fast-paced kitchen environment. You will be integral to maintaining our high standards of food preparation, kitchen cleanliness, and service delivery. This role is perfect for someone looking to build a career in hospitality or gain valuable culinary experience in a dynamic setting.
What you'll be doing
Preparing and cooking food items according to Tiger Burger recipes and quality standards
Assisting with food preparation tasks including chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients
Maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen setting, including regular cleaning and sanitising of workstations and equipment
Operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, fryers, and prep stations
Supporting the kitchen team during busy service periods
Monitoring food stock levels and assisting with stock rotation using FIFO principles
Following food safety and hygiene regulations at all times
Communicating effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service
Assisting with general kitchen duties as required, including washing dishes and managing waste
What we're looking for
Previous experience as a kitchen hand, cook, or in a similar hospitality kitchen role (desirable but not essential)
A strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Good communication and teamwork skills with the ability to take direction and work collaboratively
Physical fitness and the ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry items regularly
Flexibility with scheduling to accommodate part-time hours and potential weekend or evening shifts
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
Relevant food handling certification or willingness to obtain it
