Trades Assistant

to join our Mt Isa workshop team. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in doing the job properly and works well as part of a team. You’ll support our tradespeople and workshop operations across a range of activities while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and housekeeping. What you'll be doing

Assisting tradespeople with day‑to‑day workshop activities

Operating hand and power tools safely and effectively

Moving materials and equipment using a forklift

Assisting with general fabrication and workshop tasks

Supporting painting, blasting and preparation activities as required

Performing manual handling and general workshop duties

Maintaining tools, equipment and work areas

Following RIMEX safety procedures and protected work practices

Working collaboratively with the workshop team to meet operational requirements.





What we’re looking for

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring: Current Forklift Licence – essential

Previous experience in a workshop, manufacturing, mining, mechanical or industrial environment is highly regarded

Confidence using hand and power tools

A practical, hands‑on approach and willingness to learn

Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the role

Good communication and teamwork skills

Reliability and a strong work ethic

Commitment to workplace safety and quality

Availability to work full‑time Monday to Friday.

Experience with welding, painting or abrasive blasting would be an advantage, but isn’t essential. Why join RIMEX?
