Bent Metal, 79 Thistlethwaite St, South Melbourne VIC 3205 | bentmetal.com.auBent Metal is an artist blacksmith and sculpture studio that has been in South Melbourne since 1993. We make public sculpture, bespoke wrought iron and architectural metalwork. We're looking for a skilled, reliable metalworker to join the studio part-time.
The role
• 24 hours a week, part time
• Forging and hand work at the forge
• MIG/TIG welding and general fabrication
• Help with site installs around Melbourne
• Finishing, preparing work for galvanising and paint, and keeping the workshop tidyAbout you
• At least 2 years' metalwork experience (fabrication, welding or blacksmithing)
• Comfortable with hot work and workshop safety
• Can read drawings and work to measurements
• Driver's licence and white card preferred
• Legally entitled to work in Australia
• Travelling workers and journeymen welcomePayHourly rate above award, depending on experience. We'll go through the details at interview.
