About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Security Analyst to join our Managed Security Services team, supporting a portfolio of enterprise customer environments across security monitoring, incident investigation, threat hunting, detection improvement and customer security outcomes.

This is a hands on senior security operations role for someone who can operate independently, make sound decisions during investigations and provide guidance to both customers and less experienced analysts.

You’ll work across a broad range of customer environments and technologies, combining day-to-day security operations with deeper investigative work, detection tuning, threat hunting, continuous improvement and mentoring.

What you’ll be doing

- Lead and perform security investigations across enterprise customer environments
- Analyse security events using SIEM platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel and Splunk
- Investigate suspicious activity across identity, cloud, endpoint and network telemetry
- Support incident response activities including investigation, scoping, containment, escalation and customer communication
- Act as a senior escalation point for complex security incidents and investigations

- Tune and optimise existing detections to reduce false positives and improve detection quality
- Develop new customer-specific detections and security use cases where required
- Lead and contribute to threat hunting activities driven by threat intelligence, customer concerns or emerging attack techniques
- Identify gaps in logging, detections and security visibility and recommend improvements
- Support vulnerability management activities, including reviewing and prioritising findings
- Translate technical findings into clear customer recommendations and security outcomes
- Contribute to automation, tooling improvements and broader SOC capability development
- Mentor and support junior analysts, helping improve investigation quality and decision-making across the team
- Collaborate with specialist CyberCX teams, including incident response and broader managed security capabilities
- Participate in the team’s rotating after-hours on-call roster

What you’ll bring

- Strong experience working in a SOC, MSSP, MDR or security operations environment
- Demonstrated experience leading or independently handling security investigations
- Hands-on experience with a SIEM such as Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk or a comparable platform
- Experience with EDR/XDR platforms such as Microsoft Defender,

CrowdStrike or Cortex XDR
- Strong understanding of identity and account compromise scenarios, including cloud and Microsoft environments
- Exposure to Microsoft Azure, Entra ID or broader cloud security environments
- Practical understanding of incident response, containment and escalation
- Experience analysing logs and correlating activity across multiple security data sources
- Experience with detection tuning, alert optimisation and ideally developing new detection logic
- Practical threat hunting experience, including working from intelligence, TTPs or suspicious indicators
- A good understanding of attacker behaviours and frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK;
- The ability to look beyond the alert itself and understand the customer, business impact and security outcome
- Strong judgement and the confidence to make recommendations during ambiguous or high-pressure situations
- Experience communicating technical findings clearly to customers or senior stakeholders
- Experience mentoring or supporting less experienced analysts
