Looking to take your Heavy Diesel career into underground mining?

I'm looking for a Heavy Diesel Fitter to join an established underground hard rock mine near Bendigo in regional Victoria.

You don't need previous underground mining experience for this one. If you're a qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic with solid experience across mobile plant, earthmoving or similar heavy equipment, the site can provide the training and support to get you up to speed underground.

This is a permanent, long-term position offering an even-time 7:7 roster, consistent hours and the opportunity to build your mining experience without having to travel interstate.

The Site Join an established underground operation with a long mine life, supportive management and a close-knit maintenance team.

The site employs approximately 250 people and offers a stable environment for tradespeople looking to establish a long-term career in underground mining.

The Role Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you'll join an experienced mobile maintenance team responsible for keeping the underground fleet running safely and reliably.

Initially, you'll spend time within the workshop before progressing into underground field and breakdown work once trained and competent.

Your day-to-day will include:

Scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance

Breakdown repairs and fault finding

Component change-outs and repairs

Diagnostics across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems

Workshop-based maintenance

Underground field service and breakdown support

Working both autonomously and alongside the wider maintenance team

The Equipment You'll gain exposure to a varied underground mobile fleet including:

Underground mining trucks

Loaders / boggers

Drills

Integrated tool carriers

This gives you the opportunity to develop across a much broader range of equipment rather than working on the same machines day in, day out.

The Roster Enjoy an even-time roster giving you a full week off between swings:

7 days on / 7 days off / 7 nights on / 7 days off

Wednesday to Tuesday rotation

12-hour shifts

Your Skills & Experience This role will suit a qualified Heavy Diesel Fitter with strong mobile plant experience who is either already working within mining or looking to make the move underground.

You'll bring:

Strong experience working across mobile plant equipment

Background in earthmoving, civil, heavy equipment or mining

Good mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic ability

Strong understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems

Confidence carrying out servicing, repairs and component change-outs

Strong safety focus

Ability to work autonomously and as part of a maintenance team

Positive attitude and willingness to learn underground equipment and systems

Previous underground mining experience is highly regarded but isn't essential.

The Perks

Permanent position with long-term job security

Entry into underground mining for experienced mobile plant fitters

Lifestyle-friendly 7:7 roster

Consistent 12-hour shifts

Ongoing underground equipment training and development

Broad exposure across an underground mobile fleet

Supportive, team-focused site culture

Long-term career development and progression opportunities
