Welcome to Sleepy Lagoon Motel, the finest self-catering accommodation in Tin Can Bay! Our motel is centrally located in a quiet coastal town known as a nature-lover's paradise.

We offer 24 semi-self-contained air-conditioned cabins, a three-bedroom holiday house, and two brand-new premium holiday villas. Located just minutes away from the world-renowned wild Indo-Pacific humpback dolphin feeding area, as well as the Great Sandy Strait Boating Paradise and the gateway to Fraser Island, we pride ourselves on providing a memorable, comfortable, and highly-rated experience for all our guests.

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced, dedicated, and hands-on Motel Manager to oversee and control the daily operations of Sleepy Lagoon Motel. In this role, you will be the heart of our operations, ensuring that every guest receives exceptional service from check-in to check-out. You will be responsible for coordinating across all aspects of the motel, including reservations, housekeeping, property maintenance, and financial administration, while maintaining our high standard of guest satisfaction and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

As the Motel Manager, your duties will align with industry standards and the specific needs of our self-catering property, including but not limited to:

· Direct and oversee all front-office operations, including reservations, reception, and guest check-ins/check-outs for our 24 cabins, holiday house, and villas.

· Supervise and coordinate housekeeping and room service activities,



ensuring all self-contained accommodations meet strict cleanliness and presentation standards.

· Manage property maintenance, overseeing the upkeep of grounds, gardens, BBQs, laundromat facilities, and ensuring security arrangements are in place.

· Oversee accounting and purchasing activities, including managing inventory, ordering supplies, and maintaining budget controls.

· Ensure strict compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, as well as relevant accommodation and hospitality laws.

· Assess, review, and actively manage customer satisfaction, promptly addressing guest feedback and maintaining our strong 4.5+ star rating.

· Act as a local ambassador by providing guests with comprehensive local tourism information, and helping arrange activities such as the world-renowned dolphin feeding experiences and Fraser Island tours.

Job Requirements

· Experience: MUST have a minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated experience working as a Motel Manager or Hotel Manager strictly within Australia.

· Language Skills: Bilingual proficiency is highly preferred to effectively communicate with our diverse international tourist demographic.

· Leadership & Management: Proven ability to lead, direct,



and coordinate staff across multiple departments (front desk, housekeeping, maintenance).

· Customer Service Excellence: Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven track record of resolving guest issues and driving customer satisfaction.

· Technical Proficiency: Robust computer literacy, including experience with property management systems (PMS), online travel agencies (OTAs), and booking channels.

· Financial Acumen: Solid understanding of basic accounting, budgeting, and cost control within a hospitality setting.

· Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, and the ability to respond to after-hours property emergencies when required.
