About the Role n
nWe are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join a high-performing Data Engineering team delivering enterprise-scale data solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll design, build and optimise modern data pipelines that enable trusted, scalable data for reporting, analytics and business decision-making.n
nWorking closely with Solution Designers, Data Architects and cross-functional technology teams, you'll play a key role in delivering robust batch and real-time data solutions while driving engineering best practices, mentoring team members and contributing to the continuous improvement of the data platform.n
Required Experience: n
n- Design, develop and maintain scalable batch and real-time data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). n
n- Build robust ETL/ELT solutions to ingest, integrate, transform and model data from multiple enterprise source systems.n
n- Collaborate with Solution Designers, Data Architects and business stakeholders to deliver data solutions aligned to business and technical requirements. n
n- Develop high-quality, production-ready code using modern software engineering practices. n
n- Optimise data pipelines for performance, scalability, reliability and cost efficiency. Implement automated testing,



monitoring and CI/CD practices to support reliable production deployments. n
n- Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to engineers and delivery partners. n
n- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis and implement long-term improvements. n
n- Champion engineering standards, reusable frameworks and continuous improvement initiatives across the data engineering function. n
n- Work collaboratively within Agile delivery teams and contribute to sprint planning, estimation and technical design discussions.n

n About You n
nYou'll be a passionate Data Engineer who enjoys solving complex engineering problems while delivering reliable, scalable data solutions within enterprise environments.n
You'll bring: n
n- 10+ years' experience in Data Engineering, Software Engineering or ETL Development. n
n- Strong commercial experience delivering enterprise data solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) . n
n- Expertise with BigQuery , Dataflow, Cloud Composer (Airflow), Pub/Sub and Cloud Storage. n
n- Advanced SQL skills and strong programming experience with Python (Java or Scala also beneficial). n
n- Strong understanding of ETL/ELT frameworks,



data integration and modern data engineering principles. n
n- Experience designing dimensional data models and enterprise data warehouse solutions. n
n- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred) and automated testing. n
n- Strong understanding of data quality, metadata management, monitoring and observability. n
n- Experience tuning data pipelines for performance, scalability and reliability. n
n- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to work across Architecture, Security, Infrastructure and business teams. n
n- Previous experience mentoring engineers and performing technical code reviews. n

n Nice to Have n
n- Experience with streaming technologies such as Pub/Sub or Kafka. n
n- Experience working within Financial Services, Insurance or other highly regulated industries. n
n- Exposure to DataOps, DevOps and modern cloud engineering practices. n
n- Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes. n
n- Google Cloud certifications. n
