We're looking for an Entry-Level Software Developer to join a digital transformation program within the Northern Territory Government. This is a contract opportunity through to 12 February 2027 , based in Darwin, NT , supporting the development, maintenance and operation of secure digital platforms. You'll work alongside experienced technical professionals, gaining exposure to software development, systems administration and ICT operations.

Requirements What You'll Do n

- Assist with the development, maintenance and support of applications
n
- Support development, test and production environments
n
- Assist with system configuration, patching, monitoring and routine maintenance
n
- Support application deployments, releases and environment updates
n
- Assist with user access and permissions
n
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide operational ICT support
n
- Assist with testing and defect resolution
n
- Maintain technical documentation and follow ICT security standards
n
- Work closely with senior technical staff and broader project teams
n

What You'll Bring nn
- A qualification or near-completion qualification in IT, Computer Science, Software Development or a related field
n




- Basic software development, coding, scripting or application support experience
n
- Some experience supporting ICT systems or technical environments
n
- Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux operating systems
n
- Understanding of software development lifecycles and ICT operations
n
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
n
- Positive written and verbal communication skills
n
- Ability to follow established processes, security requirements and technical standards
n
- A collaborative, positive and professional approach
