Programmed Facility Management is seeking an experienced Aerodrome Reporting Officer (ARO) to join our established team at Tropicana.
Working on an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth, this is an opportunity to step into an ongoing operational role where your experience will contribute directly to the safe, compliant and efficient operation of the aerodrome.

The Opportunity As an Aerodrome Reporting Officer, you’ll play a critical role in maintaining the safe and compliant operation of the Tropicana aerodrome.
This is a hands-on, safety-critical position responsible for aerodrome inspections, serviceability reporting, hazard identification and supporting day-to-day aviation operations.
You’ll work closely with aviation stakeholders, site teams and aircraft crews to ensure the aerodrome remains safe, serviceable and compliant with relevant aviation requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily and non-routine aerodrome serviceability inspections across runways, taxiways, aprons and associated facilities
- Monitor and report on aerodrome conditions, including weather, hazards and operational impacts
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with CASA regulations, aerodrome manuals and site safety systems
- Identify and manage foreign object debris (FOD), hazards and operational risks
- Support NOTAM processes and aeronautical reporting requirements
- Assist with airside works and operational restrictions, ensuring safe access and compliance
- Support aircraft movements and general airside operations, including coordination with crews and ground teams
- Assist with terminal and aviation-related site activities, including passenger movement and operational support
- Participate in aerodrome emergency response activities and maintain airside safety standards
- Support general aerodrome maintenance and housekeeping activities where required
- Identify and report any conditions that may impact the safe operation of the aerodrome
About You You’re an experienced Aerodrome Reporting Officer who understands the importance of safety, compliance and attention to detail in a live aviation environment.
You’ll be comfortable working autonomously in a remote FIFO environment while also working closely with site teams and aviation stakeholders.
You will have:
- Proven experience working as an Aerodrome Reporting Officer
- Strong understanding of CASA regulations,
MOS Part 139 and aerodrome operations
- Experience conducting aerodrome inspections and reporting
- Strong understanding of aviation safety and operational requirements
- Ability to maintain accurate records and respond appropriately to changing operational conditions
- Strong situational awareness and a safety-first approach
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a wider site team
- Previous FIFO or remote-site experience essential
- A professional and proactive approach to safety and compliance
Requirements
- Aerodrome Reporting Officer (ARO) qualification (Required)
- Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate (AROC) (Required)
- C Class Driver’s Licence (Required)
- Manual C Class licence (Highly desirable)
- Full Australian working rights
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
- Current National Police Check
- Previous FIFO or remote-site ARO experience
- Perth-based, or able to commute to Perth for flights
- Kalgoorlie-based candidates may also be considered
