We are seeking an experienced AI Engineering Lead to lead the development and adoption of AI capabilities across a complex technology environment.

This is a hands-on technology leadership role for someone who can move beyond AI strategy and drive the practical adoption, engineering and delivery of AI across the software development lifecycle.

The Role

You will lead the development and adoption of AI capabilities

Key responsibilities include

- Define and execute AI strategy, roadmap and innovation initiatives
- Identify and prioritise opportunities to apply AI and GenAI to business and technology challenges
- Lead the development of LLM, GenAI and agentic AI solutions from experimentation through to production
- Embed AI capabilities across the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Drive AI-enabled engineering practices to improve developer productivity, quality and delivery
- Establish engineering standards and practices for building, testing, deploying and operating AI-enabled applications
- Lead the development of AI agents, developer tooling and automation
- Provide technical leadership across AI architecture, application development and integrations
- Work with engineering and security teams to ensure AI solutions are developed and deployed securely




- Evaluate emerging AI technologies and identify practical opportunities for adoption

About You

We are looking for a senior software engineering leader with significant hands-on AI experience.

You will ideally have

- Significant experience in software engineering and technology leadership
- Proven experience leading engineering teams or technical delivery functions
- Strong hands-on experience with Generative AI, LLMs and/or agentic AI
- Experience building and deploying AI solutions into production
- Strong understanding of modern software architecture and engineering practices
- Experience integrating AI into the SDLC and developer workflows
- Strong programming experience in one or more modern programming languages
- Experience with LLM APIs, AI agents, RAG, embeddings and/or vector databases
- Understanding of AI security, governance, testing and observability
- Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD and modern cloud development practices
- Ability to translate emerging AI capabilities into practical business and engineering outcomes
