Painter Blaster - Shutdown
- Start/finish varies through Oct/Nov
- $74.15 per hour
- 12 hour shifts per day
About the Client:
Our client is a leading British-Australian mining and metals company with global operations focused on the exploration, extraction, and processing of essential minerals and materials used around the world.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Carry out surface preparation activities to ensure steel, structures, and equipment are properly prepared for coating and maintenance works. This includes cleaning, removing existing coatings, rust, contaminants, and other surface imperfections to achieve the required finish.
- Perform abrasive blasting using appropriate equipment and techniques to prepare surfaces to the required specification. Apply protective coatings and finishes in accordance with project requirements, manufacturer specifications, and workplace quality standards.
- Assist with general maintenance and associated tasks as required across the worksite. Maintain a clean, protected, and organised work area while following all relevant safety procedures, site requirements, and industry standards to ensure work is completed efficiently and to a high standard
What You Will Need:
Relevant Painter Blaster trade qualifications or demonstrated industry experience.
A valid Australian drivers licence or current photo identification.
A current Construction White Card.
Working at Heights training completed within the last three years.
Fire Training completed within the last four years.
A valid PHR Essential for Site and Lock Holder Aveling (Rio) completion certificate.
The ability to pass a Rio Tinto High G&I; pre-employment medical.
A valid laboratory drug and alcohol test completed within 28 days of the actual mobilisation date.
The ability to complete all required Rio Tinto online induction modules. These modules are unpaid.
The ability to complete nine Altrad online induction modules. These modules are unpaid.
The ability to meet all client and project-specific compliance requirements.
