We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our Finance team. This is a great opportunity for a qualified accountant with around two years’ experience who is looking to build on their technical skills while gaining exposure to projects that support business growth, technology and innovation.
You’ll play an important role in supporting the day-to-day finance function, month-end processes and payroll, while also having the opportunity to contribute to initiatives that improve efficiency and the way we work.
About the Role
Reporting to the Group Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the month-end close process, including reconciliations, journals and reporting
- Supporting the preparation and maintenance of financial records and accounts
- Assisting with payroll processing and related payroll reconciliations
- Assisting with the preparation of BAS, FBT and other statutory requirements.
- Performing balance sheet and other account reconciliations
- Assisting with accounts payable, accounts receivable and general finance administration
- Supporting budgeting, end of year audit, financial reporting and analysis
- Working with internal stakeholders to resolve finance-related queries
- Contributing to special projects focused on technology, innovation and process improvement
- Exploring and supporting the use of AI and emerging technology solutions to improve efficiency, automate processes and support business growth
About You We’re looking for a qualified accountant who has a solid understanding of accounting principles and is keen to build on their experience within a growing business.
You will ideally have:
- A relevant accounting qualification, with approximately 2 years’ experience in an accounting or finance role
- Currently studying towards, or having completed, CPA or CA
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and an understanding of core finance processes
- Experience supporting month-end processes, including reconciliations and journals
- Previous payroll experience
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across the business
- A proactive approach and willingness to learn and take ownership
- An interest in technology, AI and innovation, with a willingness to explore how these solutions can improve efficiency and support growth
- Previous experience in the Financial Services industry is highly preferred
