Administration Officer and/or Patient Navigator (0.2 - 0.8 EFT)

Are you an experienced healthcare administrator who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient-centred care?
Breast Services at Moorabbin Hospital has an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic and supportive team. We are recruiting for two complementary roles and welcome applications from candidates interested in either role individually or as a combined position.
Whether you are looking for a single day per week, a part-time administrative role, or a broader position incorporating patient navigation, we would love to hear from you.
Available Positions
Flexible Opportunities The positions may be appointed separately or combined, offering up to 0.8 EFT (32 hours per week) for the right candidate.
Commencement: 5 October 2026
Administration Officer
0.6 EFT (24 hours per week / 3 days per week)
Patient Navigator
0.2 EFT (8 hours per week / Fridays)
About the Role
Working closely with Breast Care Nurses, Surgeons,
Oncologists and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in supporting patients through their breast cancer journey and ensuring the productive coordination of appointments, referrals and clinical services. In these rewarding roles, you will:
- Communicate directly with patients, both face-to-face and via telephone, to coordinate referrals, appointments and clinic bookings.
- Provide compassionate and professional support to patients and families throughout their care journey.
- Assist in streamlining access to diagnostic, treatment and follow-up services.
- Monitor patient pathways to support timely and coordinated care.
- Support multidisciplinary clinics and team meetings.
- Manage patient records, reports, and healthcare information systems.
- Liaise with internal and external healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Contribute to service improvements and patient-centred innovation within Breast Services.
About You You are a highly organised and proactive healthcare administration professional with:
- Experience in hospital, specialist outpatient or healthcare administration.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational, prioritisation and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience coordinating appointments, referrals, and patient workflows.
- Advanced computer skills and proficiency with healthcare information systems,
- Experience using IPM in a healthcare setting is highly desirable
- A commitment to delivering outstanding patient-centred care.
- An ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Experience in breast services, oncology, or cancer care will be highly regarded, but is not essential. Why Join Breast Services?
