About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Apparel Quality & Garment Technician to join our high-performing QC team in a dynamic and fast-paced school uniform and clothing manufacturing business.

This is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring the consistent quality of our garments from design to delivery. Working along side our experienced Senior Garment Technician and Garment Quality Control Assistant, you will help lead quality assurance processes, collaborate with internal teams and external manufacturing partners, and drive continuous improvement across all production stages.

This role will be is based at our head office in Somersby on the Central Coast.

Key Responsibilities

Supplier & Customer Communication

- Maintain effective relationships with suppliers and respond to enquiries regarding samples, production and quality requirements.
- Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to resolve product and quality issues.

Sample & Product Development

- Coordinate sample orders, including prototypes, embroidery, lab dips and loom samples.
- Create and maintain technical packs, garment specifications and product documentation.
- Support product development from initial sampling through to bulk production.

Embroidery & Branding

- Maintain embroidery artwork, logo libraries and branding specifications.
- Coordinate embroidery digitising, stitch-outs, colour selection and sample approvals.
- Ensure all branding meets approved artwork and quality standards.

Quality Control & Sample Approval

- Inspect and approve samples, fabrics, trims, colours,



measurements and garment construction.
- Review lab dips, loom samples, pre-production samples and bulk production garments against approved standards.
- Conduct and coordinate wash testing, fabric assessments and third-party laboratory testing where required.
- Review supplier quality control reports and provide feedback, approvals and corrective actions.

Quality Management

- Monitor product quality throughout the production process to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Investigate quality issues, identify root causes and implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Work closely with suppliers and internal teams to maintain product quality and continuously improve processes.

About You To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Relevant qualifications in fashion QA/garment technician and/or extensive knowledge in a related industry.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a QA and/or garment technician role within apparel or textile manufacturing.
- Advanced technical knowledge of garment construction, pattern making and grading.
- Skilled in applying colour standards and matching protocols to maintain visual consistency across materials, trims and embellishments.
- Strong understanding of industry quality standards including testing and labelling requirements.
- Confident in MS365 Suite (Word, Excel) and the ability to learn and adapt to our custom-built platform.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, consistency and high-quality standards.
- Ability to identify product defects, discrepancies and quality issues.
- Self-managed and highly motivated with excellent time management skills.
- Effective planning and organisational abilities.
- Clear and confident communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated team leadership and staff development experience.
- Ability to multitask and adapt in a energetic environment.
