The Role
Embark on a transformative journey with our comprehensive 4-year, full time fixed-term apprenticeship program based at our Maryborough Service Delivery Centre (MSDC). Tailored for both school leavers and mature-aged individuals, this program equips apprentices with the skills and knowledge to excel as qualified Boilermakers.
Throughout the apprenticeship, you will undertake formal studies at TAFE while gaining valuable hands-on experience working alongside experienced tradespeople in a heavy manufacturing environment. You'll learn a range of fabrication, welding, assembly and metalwork skills while contributing to the manufacture and maintenance of Australia's rail fleet.
Upon successful completion, you will obtain a Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade (Boilermaking), providing the foundation for a rewarding career within Downer.

Skills and Qualifications
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and interest in fabrication or welding
- Strong competency in Mathematics

- Completion of Year 12 School Certificate or equivalent (desirable)
- Previous completion of a relevant pre-apprenticeship program (desirable)
- Relevant work experience, hobbies or interests related to fabrication, welding, mechanics or metalwork
- Current Driver's Licence (desirable)
