- Mechanical Fitter Apprenticeship
- Auto-Electrician Apprenticeship

Mechanical Fitter Apprenticeship

As a Mechanical Fitter Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced tradespersons to develop practical skills in installing, maintaining and repairing machinery and mechanical equipment. You will gain hands-on experience with hydraulic systems while completing the training requirements of your apprenticeship.

Your day-to-day learning will include:

- Learn to carry out mechanical assembly work, read engineering drawings, understand critical assembly work, learn secure work practices, develop skills to use power tools to build refuse, sweeper and vacuum equipment in the assembly plant
- Develop skills in diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults in the workshop and in the field
- Learn to keep customers informed about the progress of service and repair work
- Support the broader service team and assist with field work when required

Auto-Electrician Apprenticeship

As an Auto-Electrician Apprentice, you will work alongside qualified tradespersons to develop practical auto electrical skills on industry-leading municipal vehicles and equipment.



You will gain hands-on experience with electrical installations, wiring and fault diagnosis while completing the training requirements of your apprenticeship.

Your day-to-day learning will include:

- Learn to install and modify electrical harnesses
- Assist with auto electrical wiring and installations
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams with guidance
- Develop skills in diagnosing and repairing electrical faults
- Complete soldering, crimping and electrical circuit work under supervision
- Complete work in line with quality and safety standards

- A willingness to learn, follow instructions and ask questions
- A reliable, punctual and safety-focused approach
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- The ability to balance practical work with the study requirements of an apprenticeship
