Why work with us Every child and young person deserves a great education.

Together we will make our education system the best it can be.
When our children and young people thrive, so do our communities and our state.
About The Role The Engagement and Wellbeing directorate is situated within the Support and Inclusion Division.
Across the portfolios of Student Wellbeing, Behaviour, and Child Safety, the Engagement and Wellbeing Directorate delivers a range of evidence-informed policies and procedures, programs and strategies, services and funding, targeted training, and advice. In doing so, we focus on relational, trauma-informed, child-centred and culturally responsive practice, and on fostering safe and inclusive learning environments that support every child to learn, grow and thrive.
The Project Officer, Food and Nutrition contributes to the achievement of the Support and Inclusion objectives through the coordination and delivery of the Expanded School Breakfast program, including its project planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting. This includes identifying opportunities, issues,
risks and continuous improvement initiatives that impact its delivery and operational management to positively influence the provision of healthy food and drinks across the state school system.
The role also contributes to the formulation, design, delivery and evaluation of a suite of broader innovative and effective projects to influence and inform decision making at central and site level, whilst also providing high level advice and information on broader policy formulation and deployment that relate to food insecurity and nutrition in schools.
The project Officer, Food and Nutrition develops collaborative working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders and partners at state and national level, including other government departments, non-government agencies, food industry, universities, peak associations, corporate agencies and not-for-profit organisations.
