This well-established Australian business is a respected name in the consumer services sector, with a national footprint and a team that genuinely enjoys where they work. The organisation looks after its people, offering real room to grow and a strong focus on balance and support. With ongoing growth and a finance team keen to keep lifting the bar, it's a great place to take the next step in your career.
An exciting prospect has arisen for a temporary Assistant Accountant to join a dynamic finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, your key responsibilities include:
- Balance bank accounts and general ledger accounts each month, posting accruals and prepayments ahead of close
- Track the cash position with regular daily and weekly updates
- Help put together BAS and the yearly FBT return
- Assist in preparing year-end financials for each company in the group
- Pull together audit files and work with auditors and the ATO on their queries
- Monitor external funding received and how it's spent, clearing out suspense balances
- Look after company credit cards and process pay runs and direct debit uploads
- Write up how the team works and suggest smarter, tighter ways of getting things done
To be considered for this role you will have 3–4 years' experience in a similar role, and be degree qualified with CPA or CA studies underway or planned. You'll know your way around year-end accounts and checks and balances, and you're happy to run with your work while building good rapport across the business. You communicate clearly, pick up on detail, adapt quickly to new systems, and you're available to start straight away.
