The Opportunity Quinn Allan is partnering with a well-established Queensland business to find an experienced Assistant Accountant for a maternity leave contract. Starting in October and running through to August 2027, this role will see the business through its audit and financial year-end.

Based on the CBD fringe, you'll report to a Financial Controller who is genuinely great to work with: approachable, supportive and invested in her team. You'll be part of a close-knit finance team with a strong, team-oriented dynamic, working alongside Management Accountants and the CFO. The business also offers real flexibility through a hybrid working model.

What You'll Be Doing

- Completing bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Assisting with month-end accounting and reporting
- Preparing journals and other financial accounting tasks
- Assisting with BAS and FBT preparation
- Supporting the annual audit, including audit samples and supporting documentation
- Providing support across accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Completing ABS surveys




- Keeping financial records accurate, complete and up to date
- Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes
- Assisting with ad-hoc tasks and projects as required

About You

- 3+ years' accounting experience with a strong grasp of core accounting processes
- A hands-on, practical approach and a willingness to get involved across the finance function
- Strong attention to detail and ownership of your work
- Excellent communication skills
- Proactive and curious, with a genuine interest in how things can be done better
- Pronto ERP experience will be highly regarded
