We’re looking for senior communicators to join a multi-disciplinary content team responsible for keeping the ACT community informed.

The Content team within the Chief Minister, Treasury and Economic Development Directorate is responsible for a variety of whole-of-government communication channels including social media, digital channels and print products.

These roles will help shape the voice of government across these digital and social media channels, ensuring the right message reaches the right audience at the right time.

You’ll collaborate with colleagues from across government, work closely with Ministers’ offices and contribute to key initiatives and campaigns.

What you’ll do

- Create, publish and optimise engaging content for digital and/or social media channels while managing your team’s content pipeline and contributing to broader team planning and scheduling.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, directorates and communications teams across government to source, design and curate content designed around user needs.
- Monitor content performance to help shape future strategy, inform channel growth and engagement, as well as to demonstrate impact.
- Contribute to the development of communications policies, procedures and standards, particularly in the digital and social media space.

- Support emergency communications when required through the Public Information Coordination Centre (PICC).

What you’ll bring

- Strong experience in sourcing, developing and editing engaging content for multiple platforms including social media, online and e-newsletters, particularly in a complex and high paced environment with multiple stakeholders.
- The ability to translate complex information into accessible and engaging written content.
- An eye for design and storytelling across formats, along with a collaborative mindset, a curious brain, and a strong grasp of what makes content land.
- Proven ability to work with stakeholders, both internally and externally.
- Alignment with ACT Public Service values – respect, integrity, collaboration and innovation.
- Experience in supervising staff is preferred.

We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people with diverse thoughts, lived experience, and perspectives can thrive and contribute their unique talents to the ACTPS and ACT community. The ACT public service is committed to closing the gap, underpinned by the belief that when Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have a genuine say in the design and delivery of policies, programs and services that affect them, better life outcomes are achieved.
