Details:Are you a communication expert, with a passion for social media or digital content, ready for your next career step? We have two opportunities that could be for you.
We’re looking for senior communicators to join a multi-disciplinary content team responsible for keeping the ACT community informed.
The Content team within the Chief Minister, Treasury and Economic Development Directorate is responsible for a variety of whole-of-government communication channels including social media, digital channels and print products.
These roles will help shape the voice of government across these digital and social media channels, ensuring the right message reaches the right audience at the right time.
You’ll collaborate with colleagues from across government, work closely with Ministers’ offices and contribute to key initiatives and campaigns.
What you’ll do
- Create, publish and optimise engaging content for digital and/or social media channels while managing your team’s content pipeline and contributing to broader team planning and scheduling.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, directorates and communications teams across government to source, design and curate content designed around user needs.
- Monitor content performance to help shape future strategy, inform channel growth and engagement, as well as to demonstrate impact.
- Contribute to the development of communications policies, procedures and standards, particularly in the digital and social media space.
- Support emergency communications when required through the Public Information Coordination Centre (PICC).
What you’ll bring
- Strong experience in sourcing, developing and editing engaging content for multiple platforms including social media, online and e-newsletters, particularly in a complex and high paced environment with multiple stakeholders.
- The ability to translate complex information into accessible and engaging written content.
- An eye for design and storytelling across formats, along with a collaborative mindset, a curious brain, and a robust grasp of what makes content land.
- Proven ability to work with stakeholders, both internally and externally.
- Alignment with ACT Public Service values – respect, integrity, collaboration and innovation.
- Experience in supervising staff is preferred.

Note: These temporary positions are available immediately,
one position is available until 30 June 2027 with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency and the other is available for a period of three months with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency.
A merit pool will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months. These positions currently operate in a hybrid capacity which includes working from home and in office under an activity-based working environment with unallocated desks when in the office.
