About the Role
You will join our Commercial Transactions & Advisory team within Investment NSW.
Commercial
Transactions & Advisory structures, negotiates and assesses complex commercial proposals submitted by the private sector (whether solicited by Government or unsolicited) which align with government priorities and deliver high-value outcomes for NSW. The team also provides strategic commercial advice across Government and to the market to capitalise on recent and emerging opportunities, and enable informed, evidence-based decision making.
As the Associate Director, Commercial Transactions & Advisory you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of NSW by leading landmark commercial transactions and strategic investment opportunities. Working closely with senior government and industry stakeholders, you will structure, negotiate and deliver complex transactions, competitive bids and major initiatives across a diverse portfolio, including city-shaping precincts and projects in housing, education, transport, energy, visitor economy, and creative and cultural sectors.
You will provide expert commercial advice to senior executives and government stakeholders, negotiate complex transactions, manage external advisers, and lead multidisciplinary teams. Helping to shape major projects and investments that deliver lasting benefits for communities across NSW.

We're Looking For
- Transaction and Project Delivery:
Demonstrated experience leading complex commercial transactions, strategic projects, business cases or major investment initiatives
- Commercial and Strategic Expertise: Demonstrated ability to evaluate complex commercial, financial, legal, economic and policy considerations, and provide high-quality strategic advice that supports informed decision-making
- Influential Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to build trusted relationships and influence outcomes across government, industry and senior executive stakeholders, navigating complex environments to achieve strategic objectives
- Leadership Capability: Demonstrated experience leading high-performing teams and managing external advisers in complex, fast-paced and commercially sensitive environments, with a solid commitment to supporting the professional development and wellbeing of team members
