About the role

We are seeking applications from experienced and highly motivated male Aboriginal Health Workers to join our skilled and supportive team.

This role works as a key member of the multidisciplinary team to provide versatile, high quality and culturally sensitive primary health care services, including direct clinical care to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander men and their communities to achieve better health access and outcomes, while working towards meeting requirements of registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Aboriginal Health Practitioner.

Aboriginal Health Workers and Practitioners are an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team, providing a crucial link between Bourke Multi-Purpose Service and the community. The team is essential in establishing and building relationships between Aboriginal patients and care clinicians to achieve best patient outcomes. These roles deliver culturally appropriate and clinically competent health care and health education to patients and assist in providing education to staff across the Health Service to ensure culturally appropriate service delivery.

NDIS Requirement – Bourke In accordance with the requirements of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission Regulation 2013,



any person engaged in NDIS related work is required to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDISWC) clearance as part of their employment with Western NSW Local Health District if successful for this role.
