Baker / Kitchen Prep — Casual

Ard is a plant-based bakery and coffee window in Stanmore. We’re looking for a reliable baker to join our small team, lead early morning baking and support our weekly kitchen preparation.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys baking, works confidently with established recipes and takes pride in consistent, beautifully finished products.

Hours

- Friday and Saturday: 3:30am–7:30am

- Tuesday: kitchen prep and production support, with hours to be agreed

Pay

$30–$40 per hour depending on experience and employment type, plus superannuation and applicable award penalties. Minimum applicable award rates apply.

About the role

- Prepare and bake breads, buns, cakes, cookies and other baked goods

- Prepare creams, custards, fillings and other bake components

- Assemble and finish products to a consistent standard

- Lead early morning baking and ensure products are ready for service

- Support weekly kitchen prep, ingredient batching and production

- Follow established recipes,



prep sheets and production quantities

- Organise tasks efficiently to meet daily deadlines

- Label, date and store products correctly

- Monitor ingredient levels and communicate shortages

- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards

- Complete clear handovers and help guide junior staff

- Identify and report recipe or process inconsistencies

About you

- Previous experience in a bakery, pastry or production kitchen

- Confident following recipes and managing baking timings

- Reliable and available for the listed early morning shifts

- Solid attention to detail, organisation and cleanliness

- Able to work independently and as part of a small team

- Interested in plant-based baking; experience is welcome but not essential
