Are you an experienced bakery or café all-rounder who can make great coffee, work confidently with food and lead a small shop-front team?
Kenrose Bakery is looking for a hands-on Bakery Retail Supervisor to take ownership of our morning operation.
This isn't a qualified baker or chef position. We're looking for someone who enjoys both sides of bakery life — preparing the food and getting the shop ready before sunrise, then looking after customers and the team once the doors open.
Your morning
4:00am–6:00am – Prepare & Open
- Bake and finish simple pastries following our established recipes and procedures
- Prepare fresh sandwiches and light food
- Set up bread, pastry and cake displays
- Prepare the shop front for opening
- Make sure everything is fresh, organised and beautifully presented
6:00am–12:00pm – Shop Front
- Make consistently great coffee
- Provide friendly, genuine customer service
- Supervise and support the morning team
- Keep displays stocked and well presented
- Organise priorities during busy periods
- Maintain food safety, cleanliness and quality standards
- Handle normal day-to-day customer and shop-floor issues
- Prepare a clear handover for the afternoon team
About you
You don't need to be a qualified baker, pastry cook or chef.
You do need
- Bakery, café or food-retail experience
- Strong barista skills
- Confidence preparing sandwiches and simple food
- Confidence baking/finishing simple pastries by following established recipes
- Experience opening or running a café, bakery or retail shop
- The ability to supervise and support junior staff
- Good food-safety and hygiene practices
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- Reliability and confidence with a 4:00am start
We're particularly interested in someone who notices what needs doing and gets on with it — someone who takes pride in the food on the shelf, the coffee in the cup and the experience customers have when they walk through the door.
What we offer
- $80,000–$82,000 super
- Permanent full time position
- Consistent Wednesday–Sunday roster
- 4:00am–12:00pm
- Monday and Tuesday off every week
- Paid breaks in accordance with Award conditions
- No afternoon or evening shifts
