About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Barista to join our team at Jim's Cafe in Hyde Park, QLD. This is a full time position that plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer experiences. As a Barista, you will be the face of our establishment, crafting quality beverages and creating memorable interactions with our guests. Your expertise in coffee preparation and your commitment to customer service will be instrumental in maintaining our reputation for excellence.

Key responsibilities

- Preparing and serving a variety of hot and cold beverages, including espresso-based coffees, teas, and speciality drinks

- Operating and maintaining espresso machines and other beverage equipment to ensure consistent quality

- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the beverage preparation area and throughout the service space

- Delivering outstanding customer service and responding to customer requests and feedback professionally

- Working collaboratively with team members during busy periods to ensure efficient service

- Following health and safety protocols and food handling procedures at all times

- Contributing to a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all customers

What we're looking for

- Proven experience as a Barista or in a similar beverage preparation role





- Strong knowledge of coffee varieties, brewing methods, and espresso-based beverages

- Proficiency in operating espresso machines and other coffee equipment

- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanour

- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining quality

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistency in beverage preparation

- Good communication and teamwork abilities

- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks

- Flexibility with scheduling
- A passion for coffee and a desire to continually improve your craft

- Relevant hospitality qualifications or certifications (such as a barista course) would be advantageous
