About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner (BSP) to join our growing multidisciplinary team.
This role is ideal for someone who is committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred support to NDIS participants and working collaboratively with participants, families, carers, support coordinators, and other allied health professionals.
As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will undertake behavioural assessments, develop evidence-based Behaviour Support Plans, and provide ongoing implementation support to improve participants' quality of life, independence, and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive functional behaviour assessments.
- Develop Interim and Comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans in accordance with NDIS requirements.
- Identify behavioural triggers, functions, risks, and appropriate support strategies.
- Work collaboratively with participants, families, carers, support workers, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide training and guidance to support staff and stakeholders regarding behaviour support strategies.
- Monitor, review, and evaluate Behaviour Support Plans and participant outcomes.
- Complete progress reports, assessments, case notes, and other required documentation.
- Support the reduction and elimination of restrictive practices where applicable.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records.
- Ensure services are delivered in accordance with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements and relevant professional standards.
About You To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Behavioural Science, Counselling, or a related discipline AND Behaviour Support Practitioner qualification.
- Experience working with people with disability and/or complex support needs.
- Experience within the NDIS sector is highly regarded.
- Strong knowledge of positive behaviour support and person-centred practice.
- Excellent written communication and report-writing skills.
- Solid interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to manage a caseload independently while working as part of a supportive team.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain one.
- Current Working With Children Check or willingness to obtain one.
- Current Australian driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
