About the role

Working alongside the team, you will carry out steel installation and welding while helping organise daily site activities and keep jobs running smoothly. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in their workmanship, can coordinate a small crew and keeps safety, quality and productivity front of mind.

Key responsibilities

- Structural steel erection, installation, site welding and modifications.

- Reading and interpreting structural drawings, details and site instructions.

- Rigging, positioning and installing steelwork using appropriate lifting equipment.

- Coordinating daily tasks on site and supporting crew members.

- Organising tools, equipment and materials required for upcoming work.

- Liaising with management, site supervisors, builders and other trades.

- Leading pre-starts and toolbox talks, and ensuring work follows SWMS and site safety requirements.

- Lead site projects, where directed by Management.

- Checking workmanship quality and completing relevant site reports, timesheets and keeping records.

- Identifying and reporting hazards, access issues, delays and changes to scope.

- Setting a strong example through safe work practices, reliability and a professional attitude.

About you

- A recognised Boilermaker or Metal Fabrication trade qualification.





- A current High Risk Work Licence for rigging, appropriate to the work undertaken.

- Proven experience in structural steel erection and site welding.

- Proven experience in ARC welding and Gasless MIG.

- Previous leading hand experience coordinating a small site crew.

- The ability to interpret drawings and work through practical installation challenges.

- A current Construction White Card and driver's licence.

- Solid communication skills and the confidence to give clear instructions.

- A commitment to safe work, quality workmanship and looking after company equipment.

- The ability to work across Sydney construction sites.

- EWP, dogging and working at heights training will be highly regarded.
