Know lighting and love helping others understand it?
If you can take a technical lighting concept and turn it into something an architect, engineer or designer genuinely wants to hear about, this could be the role for you.
WE‑EF is looking for a Brand Manager who can bring lighting knowledge to life through presentations, education, demonstrations and industry engagement.
Based from our brand-new Melbourne facility and LightBox Application Centre, you’ll travel across Australia, build relationships with leading professionals and help strengthen WE‑EF’s position as a trusted authority in lighting applications and technology.
This isn’t a traditional sales role. You won’t own a sales pipeline, manage customer accounts or spend your time preparing quotations.
Your influence will come through your expertise, your ability to engage an audience and the professional relationships you develop.
The opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Sales and Marketing, you will become a visible and trusted lighting resource for WE‑EF across Australia.
You will
- Deliver engaging technical, product and educational presentations.
- Develop and present CPD sessions, seminars, workshops and webinars.
- Host demonstrations and learning experiences within WE‑EF’s LightBox Application Centre.
- Plan and deliver product and technology roadshows across metropolitan and regional Australia.
- Build relationships with architects, lighting designers, engineers, landscape architects, consultants, councils and infrastructure organisations.
- Represent WE‑EF at conferences, exhibitions and other industry events.
- Provide product and application training to WE‑EF Sales Partners and internal teams.
- Translate complex product and technical information into clear, practical advice.
- Monitor emerging technologies, standards, sustainability considerations and industry trends.
- Identify market opportunities and share useful insights with the Head of Sales and Marketing.
- Support customer and project presentations where specialist lighting knowledge will add value.
- Contribute to educational content, product launches, campaigns and industry communications.
- Help promote responsible lighting practices, including DarkSky principles and environmentally sensitive lighting applications.
The role involves extensive travel throughout Australia, with occasional travel to New Zealand and other international locations.
What you’ll bring
You don’t need to come from one particular part of the lighting industry. You may have worked in architectural or commercial lighting, lighting design, engineering, product development, consultancy or another closely related environment. What matters most is that you have strong lighting knowledge and can communicate it effectively to professional audiences.
You will ideally bring
- Professional experience in the lighting industry or a closely related field.
- Robust knowledge of lighting products, technology, applications or design.
- Demonstrated presentation and public-speaking experience.
- The ability to explain technical concepts clearly and confidently.
- Strong relationship-building and influencing skills.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of how education and industry engagement create opportunities.
- The organisation and independence needed to manage multiple activities and regular travel.
- Confidence presenting in settings ranging from small professional meetings to larger industry events.
- A genuine interest in emerging lighting technology, sustainability and the wider built environment.
Knowledge of areas such as LED technology, optics and photometry, lighting controls, lighting standards, sustainability, DarkSky principles, outdoor applications and public-realm environments will be highly regarded.
Direct outdoor-lighting experience is helpful, but it isn’t essential. Relevant tertiary or technical qualifications and involvement with IESANZ or another industry association would also be advantageous.
What you can expect from WE‑EF
Alongside the opportunity to become an influential voice within the Australian lighting industry, WE‑EF offers:
- A brand-new facility and dedicated LightBox Application Centre.
- A caring, supportive workplace with strong employee retention.
- Versatile working arrangements.
- An Employee Assistance Program.
- Volunteer leave.
- Employee product-purchase opportunities.
- Employee recognition awards.
- The autonomy to shape presentations, education and market activities.
