Your new opportunity
We are seeking a Building Code Consultant / Building Surveyor to join our team at Brisbane Airport. This prospect would suit someone with 1-3 years of experience in Queensland building certification, or similar relevant experience in the Queensland construction industry.
You will work in a professional regulatory environment alongside experienced Building Surveyors and Airport Building Controllers, contributing to a range of building and construction projects within the airport workplace.
The role offers practical exposure to building compliance, technical assessments, inspections and regulatory processes, with support from senior team members as you continue to build your experience.
As this role is based at Brisbane Airport, Australian citizenship and a willingness to undertake the required security clearance process are essential.
What you’ll bring
- A relevant qualification in Building Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline
- 1-3 years of experience in Queensland building certification, or similar relevant experience in the Queensland construction industry
- Working knowledge of the National Construction Code and Queensland building legislation and approval processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and a practical, solutions-focused approach
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet project deadlines
- Confidence working with clients, consultants, contractors and regulatory stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Australian citizenship and willingness to undertake the required security clearance process
What you’ll be doing
Working with experienced professionals, you'll:
- Review plans, specifications and supporting documentation for compliance with the National Construction Code and relevant legislation
- Prepare technical assessments, reports, correspondence and regulatory documentation
- Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, authorities and other project stakeholders
- Assist with building inspections and the preparation of associated records and reports
- Support permit, approval and compliance processes within the airport environment
- Maintain accurate project files, registers and compliance documentation
- Contribute to the timely delivery of projects while working closely with the broader Airport Building Control team
