Business Controller

$160,000 – $180,000 + Super + 10% Bonus | Western Sydney A newly created opportunity with an established international organisation undergoing a significant period of growth in Australia.

This is an opportunity for an experienced finance professional to take genuine ownership of the finance function for a major new Australian operation , working closely with Operations and senior leadership as the business scales.

We are open to candidates from both commercial finance and advisory backgrounds . This could suit an experienced Business or Financial Controller who has worked in a large-scale operational environment, as well as someone from Big 4 consulting, transaction services, M&A;, corporate finance or financial advisory who has subsequently developed strong commercial finance and business partnering experience.

The role combines financial control and reporting with commercial analysis and operational partnering, giving you the opportunity to influence decisions rather than simply report on them.

The Role The position is approximately 60% financial control and reporting and 40% commercial partnering , giving you broad exposure across both finance and the wider business.

Key responsibilities include:

- Own monthly financial reporting, management packs and financial commentary
- Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts and cash-flow forecasting
- Maintain strong financial controls and support audit and tax requirements
- Partner with Operations on labour costs, overtime, KPIs and cost optimisation
- Provide commercial analysis and financial insight to support operational decision-making
- Lead financial analysis, investment cases and business cases for CAPEX
- Evaluate financial performance, risks and key financial commitments
- Support senior leadership with analysis and recommendations on business performance
- Work with stakeholders to improve processes,



reporting and financial visibility
- Help establish and strengthen finance processes as the Australian operation develops
- Act as the key finance representative for the operation

About You We are looking for someone who combines strong technical finance capability with commercial judgement and the confidence to work closely with Operations and senior leadership.

You will ideally bring

- CA or CPA qualification
- 10–15+ years' relevant finance, advisory and/or commercial experience
- A strong background in commercial finance, financial control, business partnering or financial advisory
- Alternatively, a Big 4 background across consulting, M&A;, transaction services, corporate finance or financial advisory, combined with subsequent commercial finance or business partnering experience
- Strong financial analysis and financial modelling capability
- Experience translating financial information into clear commercial recommendations
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting and management reporting
- Experience partnering with Operations, senior stakeholders or business leaders
- Experience with investment analysis, business cases, CAPEX or M&A-related; analysis
- Strong understanding of financial controls and financial performance
- Experience working within a sophisticated ERP workplace
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- The confidence and maturity to operate independently and take ownership

We are particularly interested in candidates who are commercially curious,



analytically strong and looking for a role with broader ownership and influence. Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, logistics & supply chain, food & beverage, industrial services or another large-scale operational environment would be advantageous, but is not essential.

The role is predominantly onsite in Western Sydney, with the potential for one day working from home once established and subject to business requirements. Initial interstate travel will be required for training, with occasional travel thereafter.
