Alexander Funds is an Australian fixed income credit manager, founded in 2009 on a simple belief: Australian investors should have access to the credit opportunities that were long reserved for institutions. We focus on building carefully constructed credit portfolios across corporate bonds, securitised assets and private credit, designed to preserve capital and deliver income through the market cycle.
About the role
We're looking for a Business Development Associate to join our Distribution & Marketing team in Melbourne. Reporting to the Head of Distribution & Marketing, you'll support our national sales and distribution effort and help grow funds under management.
You'll act as a link between our clients, the Distribution team and management. Working closely with our Distribution, Marketing, Operations and Investment teams, you'll provide the sales, client engagement and analytical support that helps us build lasting relationships with financial advisers and other intermediaries.
What you'll do
- Support account management across existing and prospective intermediary clients, and keep our CRM accurate and up to date.
- Run outbound phone and email campaigns to generate leads and build a network of financial adviser relationships.
- Manage inbound client enquiries, bringing in Investment, Executive or Distribution colleagues where needed.
- Work with Operations on information requests from platforms and rating agencies, and help with platform flow reporting.
- Keep monthly fact sheets, sales decks and website pricing and documents current.
- Prepare tailored proposals, pitchbooks, presentations and fund comparisons.
- Collate fund analytics using Morningstar Direct and our internal systems.
- Coordinate Investment team input into due diligence questionnaires, RFIs and RFPs.
- Research market and competitor trends to find new opportunities.
- Organise events, webinars and conferences, and attend client meetings and events (including interstate travel).
About you
- A bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics or Business/Commerce
- RG146 compliance
- 1-3 years' experience in financial services
- Strong phone, interpersonal and presentation skills
- A high standard of accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience with analytics software (Morningstar Direct, Lonsec iRate or similar) is an advantage
- Strong Excel or Power BI skills is an advantage
