Are you an experienced construction machinery sales professional with OEM experience, particularly across earthmoving equipment and excavators?
Our client is a global construction equipment manufacturer expanding its Australian operation and is looking for experienced professionals to develop dealer networks, grow customer relationships and drive sales across multiple Australian territories.
Candidates based in the listed locations are encouraged to apply. Strong candidates based elsewhere in Australia may also be considered where relocation is suitable.
Essential Requirements
- Proven sales experience with a construction equipment OEM.
- Strong sales experience across construction machinery, particularly earthmoving equipment and excavators.
- Experience developing and maintaining relationships with dealers and end customers.
- Proven track record of developing new business and achieving sales targets.
- Ability to sell across a range of construction equipment, rather than a single product line.
- Strong commercial negotiation, communication and relationship-management skills.
- Experience managing a territory and developing market opportunities.
- Willingness to undertake frequent field visits to dealers and customers.
- Valid Australian working rights.
What We're Looking For
We are particularly interested in candidates who have:
- A robust background with a construction equipment OEM.
- Established relationships with Australian dealers, contractors and end customers.
- Hands-on experience with earthmoving machinery and excavators.
- Strong knowledge of the Australian construction equipment market.
- A proven history of growing sales and market share within a territory.
- Experience working across a broader construction equipment portfolio.
AWP /MEWP sales professionals are also encouraged to apply, with experience and established Australian dealer or customer relationships.
OEM backgrounds in relevant construction equipment product lines are strongly preferred. Rental-company backgrounds are not the primary target for these positions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with construction equipment dealers and key customers.
- Identify new business opportunities and expand market coverage within the assigned territory.
- Drive sales across the construction equipment portfolio, with particular focus on earthmoving equipment and excavators.
- Work with dealers and customers to develop opportunities and achieve regional sales targets.
- Manage opportunities from initial engagement through commercial negotiation to order completion.
- Conduct regular dealer and customer visits, product demonstrations and business reviews.
- Monitor market conditions, competitor activity, pricing and customer requirements.
- Work closely with product, service, logistics and finance teams to support dealers and customers.
- Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to support business and product development.
