The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Business Improvement Manager to join our team and help us continually improve the way we make our chocolate magic.
This is a hands-on role for someone who loves asking “How could we do this better?” - then turning great ideas into practical, measurable improvements.
Working closely with our Production and Quality teams, you’ll map and analyse processes, identify bottlenecks and opportunities, improve productivity and efficiency, strengthen systems and SOPs, and help create a production environment that is lean, safe, high-performing and genuinely enjoyable to work in.
You’ll also play an important leadership role, supporting our Production Team Leads and helping build a culture of accountability, curiosity, learning and continuous improvement.
What you’ll be doing
- Optimising processes - map current processes, identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks,
and implement practical improvements.
- Driving continuous improvement - use Lean/Six Sigma principles, data and observation to improve productivity, reduce waste and optimise resources.
- Leading and developing people - coach and support Production Team Leads and team members to build capability, confidence and accountability.
- Strengthening systems and SOPs - develop, review and maintain SOPs, work instructions and standardised processes.
- Using data to drive decisions - analyse production, inventory, labour and operational data to identify opportunities and measure impact.
- Supporting production planning - identify resource, labour and capacity constraints and proactively address potential challenges.
- Championing quality and food safety - ensure GMP, HACCP, food safety and WHS standards are consistently upheld.
- Improving communication and information flow - help ensure the right information reaches the right people, at the right time, so better decisions can be made.
- Reducing waste and improving efficiency - identify opportunities across production, inventory, labour and cost of goods.
- Building a culture of improvement - encourage ideas, curiosity and constructive challenge across the production floor.
What you’ll bring We’re looking for someone with:
- 3+ years’ experience in process improvement, business improvement or manufacturing operations
- Strong understanding of Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies
- Experience with process mapping, value-add analysis and continuous improvement
- Experience in a food manufacturing environment, ideally with HACCP and GMP/GHP
- Experience leading or supervising production teams
- Strong knowledge of food safety, quality, GMP, HACCP and WHS
- Experience developing and improving SOPs and standardised work
- Confidence working with production data and inventory systems
- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills
- A Food Safety Supervisor Certificate, or willingness to obtain one
- Relevant manufacturing, business or operational qualifications are desirable
Who you are
- You’re curious, practical and solutions-focused.
- You’re equally comfortable looking at a spreadsheet, walking the production floor, coaching a team member or working through a complex operational challenge.
- You lead with care and clarity, communicate openly and respectfully, and understand that high standards and a supportive culture go hand in hand.
- Most importantly, you’re aligned with our values. You care about people, quality, sustainability and doing things with intention.
