Support the successful transition of critical Defence capabilities into operational service

Your new company

This opportunity sits within a complex Defence capability environment responsible for planning, developing and delivering land command, control, communications and computing capabilities that support Army and the broader Joint Force. Working across integrated teams, you will collaborate with Defence stakeholders, sustainment organisations, delivery agencies and industry partners to ensure capability outcomes remain operationally effective, governed and ready for service. The environment is rapid-paced, collaborative and focused on delivering long-term capability outcomes across multiple capability streams.

Your new role

As the Introduction into Service SME, you will play a key role in coordinating and assuring capability transition activities across assigned capability streams. Working within a program assurance function, you will help ensure delivered capabilities are ready for operational employment and supported by appropriate workforce, sustainment, logistics and governance arrangements.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Planning and coordinating Introduction into Service activities across multiple capability streams.
- Developing and maintaining transition schedules, readiness assessments and IIS plans.
- Coordinating workforce, training, sustainment, logistics and support system inputs.
- Managing capability readiness risks, issues and mitigation activities.
- Engaging with Army stakeholders, capability managers, sustainment organisations and industry partners.
- Preparing briefs, reports and recommendations for governance and readiness forums.
- Supporting capability transition assurance activities and readiness reporting.




- Analysing dependencies and helping synchronise transition activities across the broader program.

What you’ll need to succeed You will bring experience supporting complex capability transition, readiness or sustainment activities within Defence or similarly structured environments.

You will bring:

- Demonstrated experience in Introduction into Service, capability transition, sustainment planning or readiness activities.
- Sound understanding of the Defence Capability Lifecycle and Capability Realisation Framework.
- Experience coordinating activities across multiple stakeholder groups and organisations.
- Strong capability in developing readiness assessments, transition plans and governance documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to identify, assess and manage readiness risks and issues.
- A current NV1 Australian Government Security Clearance as a minimum requirement.

Desirable:

- Qualifications in project management, logistics, engineering, systems or business management.
- Experience within Army, Defence acquisition, sustainment or capability management environments.
- Knowledge of Land C4 capabilities and Army operating environments.
