Mantra Hobart Airport is seeking a Casual Chef to join our kitchen team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Chef looking for flexible casual work in a busy hotel environment.
About the Role
Working as part of our kitchen team, you will assist with the preparation and delivery of quality meals for hotel guests, functions and other food service requirements.
Duties may include:
- Preparing and cooking meals to a consistent standard
- Assisting with breakfast, lunch and dinner service
- Preparing food for functions and group bookings as required
- Food preparation and general kitchen duties
- Maintaining high standards of food presentation
- Following food safety and hygiene requirements
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe kitchen
- Working collaboratively with the kitchen and wider hotel team
- Assist with coverage for permanent staff leave requests when available
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen
- Hotel, restaurant or catering experience is highly regarded
- A good understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements
- The ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- A reliable and professional approach to work
- Availability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends as required
- Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate - preferred
The ability to work independently while also contributing positively to the kitchen team is important.
