Casual Events and Functions Supervisor - North Burleigh Surf Life Saving Supporters Club

North Burleigh Surf Life Saving Supporters Club is looking for a Casual Events and Functions Supervisor to join our team. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working with people, knows how to run a busy function, and can keep things organised.

About the Role:

As the Events and Functions Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for running functions on the floor and making sure everything goes to plan from the time guests arrive until the event finishes.

Our back-of-house team will handle setup and preparation, while you’ll be the main point of contact during the function, overseeing the team and ensuring our guests receive great service.

What You’ll Do:

- Complete walkthrough of the venue for perspective guests.
- Maintain communication and plan details leading up to events.
- Handle payments and accounts
- Supervise functions and events on the floor from start to finish.
- Lead the front-of-house team during functions and make sure everyone knows what they need to do.
- Work closely with the back-of-house team to ensure the event runs smoothly.
- Be the main point of contact for guests and help resolve any issues that come up during the event.
- Make sure service standards are maintained throughout the function.
- Keep an eye on timing, service and the overall running of the event.
- Step in and make decisions when things don’t go to plan.




- Help create a welcoming and enjoyable experience for our guests.

We’re looking for someone who:

- Has previous experience in hospitality, functions or events.
- Has experience running or supervising functions such as weddings, corporate events, parties or similar.
- Is confident leading a team and taking charge during a busy service.
- Is organised, reliable and able to stay calm under pressure.
- Has good communication skills and is comfortable dealing with guests.
- Can think on their feet and handle problems as they arise.
- Is available to work our busiest function days, Thursday to Sunday
