The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has become available for a Category Specialist to join our Procurement team based in Mulgrave.
Reporting to the Senior Category Manager, you will play a key role in delivering procurement and category management outcomes across a diverse portfolio of facilities management and indirect spend categories.
You will lead end-to-end sourcing and tender activities, manage supplier performance, negotiate commercial agreements and drive continuous improvement initiatives that support operational and commercial success across the business.
The category portfolio includes facilities management services and spare parts across HVAC and refrigeration, electrical and plumbing services, building maintenance, bakery and catering equipment, hire equipment and other service-related categories.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement professional looking to further develop their category management career within a fast-paced, collaborative and commercially focused setting. Key Responsibilities
Procurement &
- Category Management Develop and implement category strategies that support business objectives
Lead sourcing and tender activities from market engagement through to implementation
Deliver cost savings, value creation and risk management outcomes
Analyse spend data and identify strategic procurement opportunities Supplier &
- Contract Management Manage supplier relationships, performance and contractual compliance
Lead commercial negotiations and contract implementation activities
Monitor supplier performance and resolve operational issues
Facilitate supplier reviews and performance discussions Stakeholder Engagement Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across Operations, Finance and Procurement
Partner with suppliers and contractors to achieve business outcomes
Provide procurement expertise and commercial support across the business Reporting &
- Continuous Improvement Monitor category performance through reporting and analysis
Track savings initiatives and supplier performance metrics
Identify and implement process improvements that enhance commercial and operational outcomes Experience &
- Expertise
Essential Minimum 3 years' experience in procurement, sourcing or commercial management
Experience leading end-to-end sourcing and tender processes
Strong supplier relationship and contract management experience
Excellent analytical, commercial and problem-solving skills
Strong stakeholder management and influencing capability
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills Desirable Qualification in Commerce, Finance, Law, Business or a related discipline
Experience within facilities management, technical services or indirect procurement categories
Experience managing supplier performance and governance activities To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Be: Commercially minded with strong negotiation skills
